REALLY Low 3D Mark Vantage Score?

Post by lordvic »

I did the test on the trail verion a while back, and the results were not really good. :(
I got a Overall mark of P2960

Image

I'm not sure if you can see but:
3D Mark score: 2960
CPU Score: 1368 [WTF]
Graphics Score: 4836 [I think that's okay, but I'm not sure...somebody said a 3850..not 4850, can get a better score]

CPU Speed: 993Mhz [pretty sure thats hella off...]
CPU: 4800 series [ it sees that, okay]
Memory: 3326MB [That's correct..as I have only 32-bit]

http://www.tweakguides.com/Hardcon_2.html#System-This guy also has a 4400+ and he scored a lot higher
http://www.tweakguides.com/Hardcon_7.html - section about his scoce with 7800GTX and 8800GTS..in other parts he used a Radeon 9800 Pro :)

So is my Score REALLY that low or it's incorrect?

I'm getting about 7000 GPU score with a 4850.
Your card getting that low a score is probably because of the slow prozessor (just my guess).

But...that's a HUGE difference compared to the other dude... His 4400+ AND a 7800GTX gets almost the same as me with a 4850 :(

With his 8800 he gets 7,500+ ](*,)

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Dual-core CPU
CPU Cooling: Thermalright XP-90 + High Speed Fan
Motherboard: DFI Lanparty NForce4 SLI-DR
RAM: 2 x 1GB OCZ PC-3200 Platinum EL (2-3-2-5)
Graphics: Sparkle 7800GTX 256MB PCI-E
Updated to a Palit 8800GTS 640MB PCI-E - see further below for details

Sound: Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Hard Drive: 2 x 74GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000rpm SATA RAID 0
Updated with another 74GB Raptor to use for Vista on my XP/Vista dual boot
CD/DVD Drive: Pioneer DVR-109 DVD R/RW
Monitor: Hyundai L90D+ 19" 8ms LCD
Input: Microsoft Optical Desktop Wireless (CE) Keyboard + Mouse
Sound: Sennheiser HD212Pro
Power Supply: Silverstone 650W PSU
Case: Coolermaster Stacker Silver

I think the part where it says my Cpu speed is 993mhz F'ed it up...
Don't think there's anything related with PSU..if i can OC my 4850, put fan speed to 80%+ and run 3D Mark without my computer restarting...

I agree that your CPU is the problem. I had extremely low 3D Mark scores with both a 5200+ and a 6000+. I switched both cpu and board for Intel and the scores nearly doubled. Go figure!

Actually, if you search out my posts, you'll find my results listed right on this forum...hope it helps.

And BTW, I'm not a "I hate AMD" person. I base my opinions on actual test results that I run in my office.
