new full size atx board

Post by goodguy »

Is it true that micro atx gives poorer performance because the components are cramped together and they xperience interference.

Or does this have no effect in real life situations.

Thank you. John.

Hi m8, This is a lie. They wouldn't make micro ATX boards if they did this. They are for people who want a pc to fit in a small space usually.

yeah that is false.. micro-ATX boards have less features as they don't put as many things on the board...

The trace routes don't get smaller because the board is smaller... This is a myth!

mATX was originally for small OEM systems and at one time their major drawback for the enthusisest was the lack of oc'ing features. Through the years fabricators realize the there is a small "preformance" market for the the size and have releasted some nice ones! Also limitations were caused by case designs but that also has changed.

Things like HTPCs is the main market and thats why you'll find most of your on board gpu mobos are mATX.

I've built over 7 mATX systems over the past few years and really like them.....and not one was built as a HTPC!
