Our roving reporters caught this gem at this year’s Computex 2010. It’s ASUS’s newest high-definition set-top box, the O!Play HD2. ASUS has been in the media player game since the beginning with its original O!Play set-top box and this latest version pushes the envelope with USB3.0 and Opera Browser support. You can even control the device from your iPhone or iPad!
They have really changed the form factor compared to the original version of the O!Play. It has a much more sleek and modern look. We definitely like it!
Unlike many HD set-top boxes, the O!Play HD2 has a full suite of card reader slots. According to the specs, it supports CF, SD, SD+MMC, MS Duo. That really covers everything that's out there now.
The specs on the sign don't say it, but based on the last two versions of the O!Play, the new O!Play HD2 should support 1080P viewing.
Hmm...still only 10/100 Ethernet support. I guess ASUS are figuring the USB 3.0 should draw some attention.
