Santa brought me a Kill A Watt EZ for Christmas and so far I've figured out most of it. I have entered in our cost per KW/H. Now I can see how much everything costs over the course of a week, month and year. In the voltage section I have most of it figured out.
Watt - How many watts the plugged in item is pulling.
Amp - The amp load on the plug from the item that's plugged in.
Volt - How much power the wall outlet/plug is providing to the device.
Hz - The Hz frequency from the wall outlet/plug.
There are two other settings in there I don't understand what they are reading or how it's important to me. The user's manual is one piece of printer paper folded 3 ways and doesn't tell me a whole lot. A Google search later I'm still in the dark.
The settings I don't know what they are is P.F. and VA/Apparent Power according to the Spartan manual.

I'll give it a read, thanks. I'm sure I'll have more questions than answers so you might want to check back.
Update
Still have no idea what that means. That first article seems to have been written by and electrical engineer for aspiring electrical engineers. Unfortunately, I'm neither of those.
