Well my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 install has decided to flake on me. Some of the icons look fine and others are all messed up. I've tried deleting the IconCache and running WinFix but neither worked. Anyone have any ideas?

i get that sometimes with my taskbar bookmarks (steam primarily because it's stored on a separate drive which isnt always plugged in) sometimes it comes back after i use it a bunch of times, but more commonly i have to just delete and re-pin a new shortcut :\
Interesting.... Most, but not all, the shortcuts that are messed up point to another drive. The drive is constantly connected so it shouldn't be a removable drive issue. However, inside the folder "Games" all the shortcuts are messed up even though the parent folder/icon is fine. I was planning on reinstalling Windows with a couple drives in RAID again, I guess this pushes that reformat up in time. Problem there is I'm being lazy and I have 3 seasons of "How I Met Your Mother" to convert from DVD to avi. 24 episodes a season at roughly 10 minutes a piece to convert over to XviD.
I fixed the issue, unknowingly. Turns out the software I used to remove shortcut arrows was the culprit. I restored the shortcut arrows and now all my icons look right again.
Just posted this fix in case someone else runs into this issue.
