Contact Microsoft? Win 8 Feature Request.

Post by Major_A »

I want a feature built-in to Windows 8 and I'm trying to contact MS but it's been a no go. They keep referring me to forums or tech support. I need neither of those things. What I would love to see...

Like in Vista you had the Aero button in the taskbar, in 7 it's Windows Button+Tab. I would love to see a button to select "Desktops". In Android phones and I believe iPhones you can scroll left and right to more "Desktops". This way shortcuts are quicker to access than opening the all apps button. I like my home Desktop to be as clean as possible (i.e. very few icons). I would be nice to have a right and left virtual Desktop where I could put app shortcuts on one screen and game shorcuts on the other. This way when you look at the home Desktop it has maybe 1 or 2 icons.

Any suggestions on how to pass on this info?

Thanks for the info but it still is too cluttered for my likes. When it comes to icons and shortcuts I definitely have a less is more attitude.

I definitely hate having icons on my desktop myself. why I using the quick launches on my task bar. But I also would hate having to flip through "pages" to find my icons I need to start up my programs. not to mention it is one more thing your computer has to load while you start up your computer. So I just make 2 extra quick launches on my taskbar, name then Benchmarking, and gamez while the actual quick launch handles all the "widely used programs" unpin all the useless icons I don't use or is a complete annoyance from the task bar (IE, Mozilla because if you like using multiple browser windows then the pinned browser will not open a new window just opens the previous window you had) the "Libraries" folder goes because it is a complete pain because it does not open the most widely used folder on my computer (ie Personal and Downloads) and any attempt of pinning those two folders gives me libraries. I keep Media player because I like quick access to my music and my X-FI launcher because I switch different surround modes constantly (movies I use Xpand, music gets Surround)

After I get things organized and put in their respected spots (quick launches) I delete all icons from desktop. I also set the task bar to use small icons as well. gives me a bit more room on the desktop, and it seems to make things look cleaner then the large icons do.
