Question about the Intel Mobile HM55 Express Chipset

Post by godling »

Will the Intel HM55 mobile chipset support DDR3 1333MHz ram?

The reason I ask is:

I'm planning to buy this laptop: ASUS P52F
It is based on the Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset.

If you see the ram spec on the ASUS product page, it says
"DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM, 2 x SODIMM socket for expansion up to 8GB SDRAM "

Does this mean it will not support anything higher than 1066MHz? Or does the mobile HM55 express chipset support 1333MHz ram?

Thanks Gurus.

From what I gather that's what ASUS ships with the latptop. I don't know if it's the max supported speed though. Intel isn't much help there.
