Need some help and suggestions

Post by Bighaste »

Hello everyone. First I will give you my specs so you'll know what I'm running.

Cooler Master HAF 932 case
MSI 990FXA-GD65 main board
AMD Phemon II X6 1100T
Mushkin Blackline 16g DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX 560 TI SC
Hitachi Deskstar 1tb hard drive
Corsair HX850 850w power supply
LG Blu ray burner
Hitachi 42" LED TV for monitor

OK now for the problem. I have been getting this random twitch in my screen. It doesn't matter if I am gaming or the computer is just sitting there at the desktop. It's driving me crazy lol. I'm thinking its my video card but not sure. I could possibly be upgrading my video card soon but I wanted to get suggestions of what might be causing this problem before I do.

I guess you could say its more like a flicker. It just happens every once in a while and I haven't figured out why. I have the latest nvidia drivers. I was having alot more problems since I started using the TV has a monitor, but I fixed most of those when I changed from mini HDMI to DVI to HDMI. That fixed all of them but the flicker that I'm getting every once in a while. The only way I know to explain what is happening is the screen freaks out a little every once in a while lol. It's nothing major and the screen doesn't go black or anything just a flicker.

Have you looked for a driver for your TV? Sounds stupid but it might fix the issue.

I haven't checked for a firmware update for my TV yet but I will. That doesn't sound stupid and it had crossed my mind but I forgot about it. Thank you for reminding me. So, does anyone think it could be my video card not liking the bigger display? I do have to say my games look good and everything for the most part. They don't look as good as some of the videos I've watched from people using cards like GTX 580 and other higher end cards. I am really thinking about upgrading soon but I'm just worried I might have the same problem if I do lol.

Doubt it's the card. From the sound of the problem it's likely a timing issue with the card and the TV. Do you have an option in the TV to "force" or "simulate" 24 FPS? Seems like that causes stuttering if you don't have your video card setup to properly display 24 FPS.
