Has anyone any info on what processor delivers the best score right outta the box?
TIA
Best Super PI 1.4 score without mods?

The High speed Pentium 4 6xx series processors will probably have the best "out of box" SuperPI times. The Intel Pentium 4 670 would be your best bet right now. But depending on how much you are willing to spend, the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition at 3.73Ghz may actually outperform it, but it would probably be a very small margin. The Pentium XE 840 dual core processor will probably also do well. And the AMD Athlon64 FX-57 would be worth a look, and maybe even the X2 4800 will also do quite well.
I know it's a pretty wide range of processors, but I can't find any benchmarks directly comparing all of these high end processors in SuperPi...
But I have to ask, why is SuperPI time so important?

Thanks!
I was really interested in timings as I'm trying to figure out how much faster I can get with an overclock.
As to why the Super PI - it relates to this thread:
