Can you flash firmware to WPA?

Post by Tim Burton »

My mother has a Toshiba Laptop with a Centrino system. The Wireless adapter is:

Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter

I just noticed that it doesn't have WPA encryption. Is there a way to flash the firmware to be able to make WPA encrypted connections to my laptop?

I'd like to connect to my router which is set up with WPA encryption, but the laptop being a 801.11b and not a G only gives me a WEP option. I was wondering if the only way to get it to connect would be an Hardware upgrade or if there is a firmware update that would enable WPA.
