Dual Processor Board

I have a board with dual processor support but only installed a 775 P-4 630 3 gig but in the device manager in window Xp it lists 2 Pentium 4 3.0 gig processors is this normal I was going to uninstall one of the entries but i said to myself is it bothering anything I guess not so I have left it alone for know anybody have any feedback on this issue or nonissue. Thanks

That's normal......Your CPU supports hyperthreading so XP thinks there is 2 CPU's........... ;)

that would be either Hyper Threading or a Dual Core CPU, thats why you see two processors.

BTW what board is it, because i dont know of any dual P4 motherboards.

I suspect he means dual-core processor support. A dual P4 board would be very strange since AFAIK Intel makes sure that their P4 procs will not work in a dual socket board. They don't want to do what they did with the PIII line. :)

The board is model Asus P5P800SE with upgraded bios 0401 and oc'ed to 3.3 and yes it is a dual-core processor board Thanks for the info
