I'm really sorry I haven't posted anything else up guys, I got really sick a couple days ago and have been out of commision for a few days. I have been playing with it a little bit but haven't really been benching much(mostly playing HL2 since I just bought it a few days ago, great game!).

Anyway, I will try to get some benchmarks done tonight and post them up. If you guys have certain benchmarks you want me to run let me know. Mostly I'll be running Sandra tests, 3DMark and PCMark to give a good idea of how it runs. I'll also post pics of the SuperPi runs(I'm trying to get a copy of SuperPi Mod 1.5 as for some reason I can't DL it from XS, if anyone has it and can email it to me I'd really appreciate it) and pics of the actual rig for you guys.

I've got a retail E6600 on the way, I'm hoping it'll be here today or tomorrow. I'll play with that one a little when it gets in too to see if there is any difference between the Step 5 ES and retail.

:)

Sorry to hear that you were unwell, hope your better now.

Will be interesting to see if the retail works as well as the ES's have, I sure hope they do!

Can you post the version no of Sandra and stuff, so we can get a direct compare to our rig (ok, mine) with the same versions.

And seen as though LR's E6600 was too early a revision, can you do as many of the same benches that they've done (well as many as you have :P). That is if you want to spend that much time benching!

Ok guys, here we go. Here is the first round of benchmarks. All bench's are done at the following settings(except 3DMark benchmarks as I did those earlier at 3.4Ghz, I will redo them @ 3.8Ghz):

E6600 @ 423x9=3.809Ghz, Vcore set in BIOS at 1.4875
Memory at 530Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1v

Wierd AquaMark3 error, anyone have this happen? Can't get it to work....
Image

AquaMark3 goes through the entire test and when it completes it it pops that error up and won't give me a score. I tried reinstalling it and it didn't help. I might need to reinstall Windows anyway because I've had some other problems so I'm not sure if that's the reason. Has anyone else seen that error before?

Anyway, what do you guys think so far? Any benchmarks you want me to run(as long as they're free)? Let me know, I'm more than happy to run stuff you want me to run. I will be doing dual Prime stable testing tonight to see what speeds it's stable at.

I'm impressed that the OCZ DDR2 800 memory is hitting well over 1GHz for you. What is the max of that memory?

Impressive results and right where I thought you'd be at for being a stepping 5 revision B1 core.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with this RAM, especially since it only cost me $160 AR. I haven't pushed it as far as it can go yet, I'll start doing that soon. Right now at 3.8Ghz it's running at a 4-5 divider, if I run it at 800Mhz I think it would be well over it's limit so I'll have to drop the clock speed and bump it up to 800 and see what it'll doo. I've got a couple of 60mm fans hooked to the ram blowing down on them so they stay nice and cool. I'm going to try to see if it'll do 550/1100 at decent timings. Who knows, I've seen OCZ ram do some impressive stuff before!

And as far as the E6600 I just want to get one screen shot of 4Ghz on air if I can. So far it's real finicky above 2.9Ghz so I'll have to really play with it to get it up to 4Ghz.

I can get some of my conroe's up to 3.92GHz, but after that it's BSOD city all the time.

How were your temps on water cooling? I've been debating on whether it's worth it to put together a water cooling system for conroe since the temps typically don't get too bad. If I were going to run it at full OC 24/7 I probably would but once I get all my testing out of the way I'll probably keep it at 3.4-3.6Ghz and get it on as low a vcore I can and still be stable. Still, I've never built a water cooling system so I'd like to do it to get the experience. I just finally did a RAID set-up for the first time and I love it, so I might feel the same way about water cooling.

Darwinia is a well good game :P

They are some really nice benchmarks. Though I think someone has the tweaking bug and wanting to water cool your rig makes it more than the 'average system' you set out to build! wtg!

Well, I fixed AquaMark3 and ran it. I got 125,327 which I'm not real happy about. I'm not sure hoe much the cpu factors into the equation in AM3 but it didn't seem to help much. I'm also really not liking this vid card much. It doesn't like to be OC'd much and seems to run pretty warm even with a Zalman hs on it. I think I'm just going to unload this one and get a x1900XT if I can find a good deal on one. I was going to just wait for DX10 but I want to be able to get better performance out of the current crop of games that I have. If anyone knows of a good deal on a x1900XT 512mb card let me know. Willing to go used if it's in good shape and has all the cables.
