Diamond Based Thermal Compound

Post by HONkUS »

Ive read some stuff about Thermal Compound made from Diamonds rather then Silver and apparently with Diamonds the thermal resistance is way lower then with Silver and also there is no set time for Diamond based themal compund. Anyone heard about this stuff?

I've heard about carbon nanofiber thermal grease, but 'heard about it' is about the extent of it.

I found this review of Diamond based Thermal Compound from a company called Jetart

The Jetart website is down and ive never even heard of them before but it does appear to be a real product!

Well, it looks interesting from first glance! :P

We'll have to keep our collective eyes on it.
AMD Opteron 1224SE "Santa Ana" = DFI Lanparty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G
Crucial Ballistix 4x1GB DDR2 800 = Corsair CMPSU-750TX

Probably true. Although diamond does spontaneously decompose to graphite, it will never happen in our lifetimes.

I never thought of diamonds of having that property to such a high degree. Neat! Electrically insulating too according to parent article below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_th ... uctivities

Approximate units of thermal conductivity, higher being better:
Aluminum 220, Copper 390, Diamond 1000, 2000 to 2500 purified synthetic.

Also:
Thermal grease, silver: 2 to 3? huh

Air:
0.025 weee!
