For those still believe Best Buy gives honest business...

Post by Schwarz »

Well once again best buy is under the spot light.
I would not consider getting even close to best buy.
Shady business...

That's quite the shady operations. I've taken enough business classes to realize that the 'reward' of such actions aren't worth it. Hopefully this bites them in the foot.

Thankfully, I don't shop there. Unless they have a killer deal in the Sunday ad, wherein I take the ad with me to the store and if I get any BS I say "Look, this ad came out today, says the sale runs until next week and so unless you're going to tell me that you sent out hundreds of thousands of misprinted ads, you can't tell me the sale is over. Get me the manager. Now."

All retailers are the same IMHO, some are worse than others, but they all uase under handed tricks to get as much money as they can out of the end-user. You just have to be smater than they are.

I'm not sure what happens in the U.S., but in Canada there's some strict laws on this type of behavior. How many times can you put something on sale in a year? Can you put something on sale if it hasn't sold at it's regular price? Do you have to declare limited supplies in an ad? etc. If what they're saying is true, I wouldn't be surprised to see a high six figure fine involved.

There are a lot of laws governing this practice here in the US as well, but a lot of retailers look at it as "it's not against the law unless we get caught." And then there's always a low level fall guy to take the blame.

If they couldn't get away with it, they wouldn't do it all the time.
