X-Fi Fatal1ty xtremegamer problem
X-Fi Fatal1ty xtremegamer problem
I bought this card a while back but had problems with it. I got another HDD and had to open up my computer so I decided to give it another try. I uninstalled the onboard audio drivers, restarted and disabled onboard audio in the Bios. Then I installed the sound card booted up and ran the driver CD (no drivers on their website). Restarted after it was done and it wouldn't work. I have absolutely no sound (input or output). Anyone have any ideas? I've tried troubleshooting but nothing changed since all the settings were correct and the computer is detecting the sound card and says it's working fine.
X-FI Fatility or try this X-FI Xtreme Gamer
Both might possibly be the same driver but I did the search a little different but they looked very similar if not. Try each of those drivers (if they are different but try the second link first). They should be correct drivers for it. If it still doesn't I guess you could try firmware though i doubt thats the issue it probably just doesn't work if that's still the case.

If you still can't get it working and you feel comfortable working in the registry you could try uninstalling everything then purging all references to the old sound chip and the x-fi; then reinstall Creative's mess over again. I don't recommend messing around in the registry if you don't know what you're doing, it can get ugly. Barring that there is reinstalling the OS. If the card is recognized it's likely still functional. Creative is not exactly famous for their trouble free software and drivers.
On edit, maybe reinstalling the OS is a bit extreme, you could always just go back to your MB sound, unload the card on ebay, i'd buy it, I seem to get all kinds of flaky crap off ebay. Not very lucky that way.
