which temperature should I believe?

Post by HONkUS »

coretemp is showing two temperature readings for my Athlon x2 which is normal I guess since I have two cores but they are both very different, not only that but speed fan agrees with one of them but not the other. My question is which one should I believe? here is a screen shot, im using an CoolIT Eliminator.

I think Core temp is more accurate, but both are pretty good anyway. As long as the programs aren't too far apart, they're fine.

Coretemp is usually better at reading the temps more accuratly, but if I didnt't know that you had the Cool thing on then I'd be like 16oC is a bit low ^_^

Whatever one that is "ABOVE" your room temp is the one to trust........;) That is unless you're running Phase or chilled water cooling. With air cooling, it's impossible to have a temp lower than room temp, regardless of the air cooler that you're using............. 8)

I missed the part where you're using the Cool-it.......;) Sorry about that.
Chech your system bios and see what it says your temp is.
