Server cases or BareBones systems
i'm going to be building a new Intel Dual Quad core file Server, but am looking for a good workable chassis. I will be doing a Tower system and have looked at Tyan (limited products) Asus, SuperMicro, and a few off brands. Does anyone have any suggestions, links, reviews they care to share?
thanks,

thanks,

Re: Server cases or BareBones systems
I've seen the Intel Server Chassis SC5400 Base be used with success on a few V8 systems, but it costs over $800...
The Thermaltake Armor also works well and that is what AMD uses on all their QuadFX system builds. The Intel Server Chassis SC5400 family offers an ideal solution for a variety of business environments. With great reliability, wide-ranging scalability, strong manageability, the SC5400 is a solid, cost-effective solution for a range of environments, from small businesses to database servers. Applications needing maximum reliability, serviceability and uptime can benefit from the SC5400LXI model, which integrates fully redundant hot-swap power supplies and fans, and support for 6-drive hot-swap SAS/SATA drives.

Re: Server cases or BareBones systems
8x Hot Swap HDD bays & LSI SAS controller looks nice
Is this for home? I found all you need is an ATX case with enough bays for a file server, there's no need for a dual proc setup for a file server.
Even a single proc setup is enough for most business setups, since the HDD controller is calculating all the parity. All the CPU needs to do is schedule the requests.
Make for a nice folder though ;)
