Well I am building an AMD machine for gaming, and was looking at something like this. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. This will be my third PC build but have not kept up with all of the new items and formats that have come out over the past years. . . . I think I looked over most of it, but if you see an issue with anything let me know. Just looking to build a good sturdy gaming PC, no overclocking here, that will last me for some time.
DISREGARD LOOK BELOW FOR UPDATED BUILD
I will use Vista Ultimate 32 bit with this setup.

Re: AMD Build Any Suggestions?
Are you set with AMD? Intel currently offers better performance. Beside that CPU/Motherboard combo that coult take a switch to Intel, your build looks good!
Re: AMD Build Any Suggestions?
Not set on the AMD build, was looking at them because back in the day I built my last PC AMD was suppose to be the best bang for the buck. . . . . I am way out of the loop by now on all the new technology, so what would you suggest for a good solid Intel gaming pc keeping the price around 1300

Re: AMD Build Any Suggestions?
take a look at my signature, i highly recommend any of the parts in there other than the old vid card!
(the raptor drive is loud though)
right now there are going to be new Core2Duos coming out in january, so maybe hold off on anything til then if possible.
i'd REALLY recommend looking back on the past few weeks/months of reviews here on the main site http://www.legitreviews.com
get up to speed on the AMD/Intel race and re-familiarize yourself with everything. It's safe to say that Intel is the better bang for your buck right now, and has been for a while.
i'd go with a different chipset than the 680i motherboards though, maybe a p35 since they run cooler. anyhow read up and get re-edjamacated :D

Re: AMD Build Any Suggestions?
Ok after looking it over this is what I have come up with. Let me know if you notice anything that needs to be changed or that can use an upgrade. Im not going to be overclocking, just playing games. . . The total is about $1300.00 before mail in rebates, and is right around the area I wanted to spend. If you have any suggestions for a newbie any and all suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance!

Looks solid ^_^
How much more expensive would it be to get 800Mhz ram instead of 667? You'd be able to squeeze a few more FPS in games from the RAM speed jump.

Ok after looking it over I found this
MOBO: Asus P5E
RAM: mushkin 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
How does this look with the above build? Is it overkill for a gamer that has no intention at this time to overclock?
