just off the phone with them. they got nice and snippy at me after i told them about my situation with the fan not working then working in another one and my telling them that when i'd put everything in the case all my screws on the motherboard were fitting and when i got it back they were loose on top and one was missing... "well you can bring it back in and for $45 we'll put in our processor and see if it won't work and if it doesn't work you can get in contact with ASUS"

they aren't getting any of my business again. time to get on the phone to ASUS and see if i cant get this colossal screwup back in order.

FINALLY!

a month later Asus gets my replacement here: lo and behold its a whole new retail box for the P5N32-E SLI board o.o

now i have 2 of the soundcards :D

anyhow i'm going to work but i'll be tinkering and rebuilding come 7:00

i felt a little odd leaving this thread unresolved, so i'm resolving it!

workstation completely back to normal as of yesterday! right down to the right size screws for the motherboard!
