Like the below thread I have a different type of RAID question.

I know a pretty damned good amount about computers, can code, etc but I've never actually dove into RAID.

What are the performance gains? I know they are good for mirroring data, but let's stay more towards the gaming side of it.

I know little more than the theory behind it from some article I read a few months ago, and can't remember where I found it. Basically with 0 it's reading from two drives, so twice as much data is put through compared to just one readable disk. RAID 5 puts the data into more drives, so even more data is being accessed at the same time. That's about all I know.
