I'm sad, I'm mad and I'm at a loss!!!!
Last night I switched cases with my current rig(see sig)
When I hit the power buuton one of my LED fans Flashed(real bright) and that was it!
The power supply will power up if I jumper it but the computer wont do anything!
Even the power indicator light located on the motherboard doesnt come on!
I worked on it for 2 hrs last night and got nowhere.
Does anyone have any ideas besides the obvious one that the Mobo is fried???

is something grounded by accident? I've done that a few times. will keep it from booting up. lots of times when mobos fry like that the power led will still come on but the computer won't start anything up at all. so I think you should make sure nothing metal is grounding the case out and put it on the minimum number of fittings to make sure or just take the motherboard out of the case and put it on something else to see if it'll start up.

Thats my next step pull it all out and see what happens.
The computer will not power up at all let alone boot! With the power LED not lit that leads me to believe it is something on the mobo thats a problem.

Alittle explanation on the power LED I'm referring too!
Its a green LED located between the 2 lower PCI slots it indicates whether the mobo has power or not.

have you checked that the FP power connector is connected the correct way?

Yes everything was connected correctly. I changed PSU's and pulled everything out of the case to make sure nothing was wrong there and it still wont power up.
At this point I'm convinced the mobo has crapped out, it is over 5yrs old.
But I am willing to try anything at the moment, I had plans for this system!

Well, its starting to sound like it, if its not grounded then one more thing i can think of sounds a little obvious; One time i had a system that wouldn't boot because in my haste to get it finished i plugged the CPU fan connector into an auxiliary fan connector. Once i switched it it booted

a good possibility is a RAM issue, check the current RAM in another system and see if it works

I'm not having trouble with it not booting, it wont even powerup so it could boot!
Nothing has power at all, when I jumper the PSU all the fans come on.
I did make sure a fan was connected to the CPU Fan connector, that was the first thing I checked. I even changed fans to make sure.
Unfortunately I dont have another system that will use the RAM

Ok, been playin with this for a cpl days now. The only 2 things that havent been tested are the CPU and mobo.
The video card , fans, RAM, HDD and PSU all work!
I am convinced Mobo is dead!
For now I am going to try and find another A7N8X-E(cheap)
If I cant find one at a reasonable price I may try an AM2 board with AGP so I can use most of the parts I alrdy have!
Apop....I live near 70 & Zumbehl, how far are you from there?
