question about monitor issues

okay, i've got a problem.

my home monitor has recently started to make my eyes hurt, badly.
if i even spend like 10 minutes just doing basic stuff, email and checking sites, my eyes start to kill me.

Acer 77c, its an old CRT i've had for a long time.

BUT i want to get a really nice monitor for when i buy my pc, which should be late july, seeing as my birthday is mid july, and thats when the extra cash + extra paycheck should coincide :crosses fingers: yada yada yada

please someone tell me that's gonna fix it?
is it just me, or is it the old CRT?

i'm really wanting a 20.1" or 22" widescreen monitor: will i run into *major* problems with the Radeon 7000 series card i have in, or will it be like i think it is, and i'll just have to suck it up resolution-wise and be glad my eyes don't feel like they're going to bleed?

heeeeeeeeeeellllllp!!!

sounds like eye strain to me. Only remedy, stop looking at the computer, and go see a doctor

If my refresh rate is out of wack, it hurts my eyes, I'm so screwed when I get older, I'm on a computer screen at least 15 out 24 hours of the day.

yeah but the thing is at my job, i've got a nice little hp lcd screen, and that doesnt ever bother me, no matter how much i've gotta type all day.

then i come home and if i go on this PC, it's hell on my eyes...

If your in your 40's please get you eyes checked. I did and I needed reading glasses. Just part of getting old. What can I say. Keep folding!

thanks for the help! i mentioned the problem to my dad today and he had an old 19 inch MAG Innovision CRT with the right drivers, so i just plugged in and installed, no problems whatsoever yet!

this will be a nice deal until i have the money to get my 22" widescreen LCD eventually!

guess i should have waited a day before posting
