I was watching Terminator 2 the other day and noticed the character John Connor using a small piece of Atari hardware to work out the pin no. for a stolen credit card and steal cash.
It looked interesting so I went to the Atari museum website and found out it was their palmtop computer the Portfolio, quite a neat little device for its day. Apparently the world's first palmtop (1989) running an 8088 chip at 4mhz. 8)

Nice find on the Atari handheld. Check out the latest and greatest in handhelds. A company called Tiqit is releasing a fully functional (well almost) handheld pc. It will have a 50 GB harddrive and run a full OS such as XP, 2000, Linux, etc. It will only have a 300MHZ Pentium class processor, but you can't beat a 50GB harddrive that runs a full OS.

Here is a link if you want to take a look at it:

Have a good one,

Thanks for the link, they have certainly made some leaps with hardware. :) Back in those days it was quite something to have DOS compatibility, the Portfolio was probably the first palmtop to have that. 8)
