He told us he has always built his own PCs and that he knows what he’s doing, yet he can’t figure out what is wrong.

I still think that picture is totally fake....the CPU has the thermal paste spread out like normal, so that heat sink was on it at one point.

probably a shameless plug for his Tech Shop. Sad that it fits though. I only get about 7cm from middle of the pushtab to middle of the next, so assuming its 80mm fan spot, then yeah it'd fit

"I build my own computers..." Funny cause that looks like an eMachines or some other POS. I agree with the thermal paste. They could've at least wiped that off before they shamelessly plugged their site.

I don't think so because I don't think they would use such a big case for a mATX board, but yeah, looks fake.

That is an OEM motherboard. It looks cheap and plain jane. I said eMachines because they a smaller builder than Dell/HP etc...so they might stick a mATX in an ATX case.

If this was real why would the owner know how to hook up the front audio and USB connections but couldn't figure out how to mount the HSF on the CPU?

That and everything else is plugged in properly and like it was said before, the TIM is perfectly spread on the CPU.

Hey! That is a dual processor case. Notice that there is room for one more Intel heatsink cooler above the other one.

Shame on them for only installing one cooler when two are needed.

Maybe it is REALLY hot where he has his computer, and he is trying to disapate some of that heat before it enters the case!
