ok .. so I helped my friend build a computer from scratch .. everything went smothly but I notice that everyime the computer starts up there are these two screens (black with words) that show up before it seems to go to the "normal" startup screens
the one says something about Marvell Controller and the SECOND screen says things like boot agent and base code and says DHCP with "....." and a rotating line after each dot
is there any way to get rid of these two screens ??
I know at the beginning of the build we set the harddrives (two 320GB western digitals) to raid from IDE in order for windows to even work for us ..
any ideas would be a huge help .. thanks

It'll be something in the BIOS that has to be disabled, but if you are using the RAID controller then you can't really disable that and have to put up with that screen.
The DHCP could be it trying to boot from LAN? Try disabling that and see if it goes away.

Dan's right, Disable the onboard RAID controller and "WOL" (Wake on LAN), they should be in the "intergrated peripherals" section of your BIOS

Re: initial startup (unneccesary screens ?? )
well, between the both of you guys I get nothing but great replies so thanks a lot
as for the problem .. I disabled the LAN thing in BIOS and I changed the RAID setting to IDE .. for results, the Marvell screen still shows up but the other (longer) one no longer comes around .. downside to this, when I get to the main screen is says that im not connected to the internet .. so I think Im just stuck living with this longer startup for now lol .. at least until I get my new mobo and processor :-D
thanks again guys

Just to clarify, did you disable wake on lan, or the whole lan controller? You should have only disabled the first one.
