Cpu-Z

It doesnt require installation, it runs as is. It provides some hardware info:

Cpu (model, fsb, ratio, instruction sets, revision etc, L1 & L2 cache etc)
Mobo (info,bios, pcie lanes)
Ram (timmings, ratio and spd for each module)

I think he means via booting from a USB stick!

You could install windows onto a usb stick using "BartPE" Then install the above programs, you can also include stuff like Orthos/prime95 etc
OR just use something like FeatherLinux

SIW is a standalone utility that does not require installation - one less installed program on your PC as well the fact that you can run the program directly from a USB flash drive (Portable Freeware).

Try: System Information for Windows
or
SIW

You can even get the software with your company logo in it I believe....if you're paying for it.

WCPU is another type like CPU-Z, but it gives other information that CPU-Z doesn't. I use both since neither program covers it all.

Another is the BELARC ADVISOR. This one is really handy since it tells not only the hardware side, but the softwares loaded on the machine and what release level their at. It will also tell the Windows Updates loaded in the machine as well.
