Which ATi Radeon Card?

Hi all,
For those of you responded to my last thread, where I (at least tried

) to take suggestions. Well, I decided to take the plunge with an ATi Radeon. I figured that some of them cost less than competing Nvidia cards. Only, one problem: I am completely new to the ATi world. Does anyone know what a good ATi radeon card for under 200 US at newegg.com?

X1950Pro is pretty good for the money. Although there are new cards coming...
Also, nVidia 8800GT's price should go back down when stock is better, near-GTX performance for about ~250$

I'd wait till the 3800 series comes out and grab one of those over the 1950... The 3850 should be priced right and have lower power consumption numbers.

How about performance numbers?

Performance numbers will be offical next week (nov 19 really). And from what I've read around the web, the HD3870 should have a MSRP of less than the Nvidia 8800GT for the 512 meg version (that is if you trust everything you read now adays). In any case I'd wait til the end of next week (or week after) before jumping on a new card if you can.
