So, I've had a lot going on lately, lost my job (laid off) then I kicked my girlfriend at the time out...
But, all is well, and I'm actually doing better than the previous job so I'm happy...but check what happend today and yesterday.
Have you ever heard of a computer working from cpu to cpu off of a straight through wire? Me either but for some godly reason it was working!
Also, today, I went to do an xp upgrade (from 2000pro)...no biggie right? wrong
Install it, go through hell, cdrom was bad, cd was wrong, etc - ended up spending like four hours in the first half there and then I went to enable remote access...
Simple task right? NO
I found that the Server was running a X.X.X.1 ip as well as the ROUTER was running the same ip...flipping impossible, the previous IT guy who was there managed to get it to work like that.
I ended up spending from 8 AM to 7 PM today working on tearing it all down and starting over...grrr.
The great news in all of this is I found out I have more lady friends than I thought who look at me like they are a fat kid and I'm the cup cake and they all want the last cupcake...
Oh yeah, the other good part lol is that I'm getting more into servers and domains, etc now instead of just hardware/software, this should help me in the long run.
