no catagory for printers

Post by hercules71185 »

ok Maybe its just me. I seem to run into problems that not even google can help me with. And I turn to forums. And there is no catagory for the stuff I try to submit. lol. Does no one else have this problem
My question is about ink
I print pics of photos I take. And someone told someone about my stuff. I'm using a semi cheap camera. panasonic lumix dmc-lz6. The pics do come out almost professional. And well I'm getting people wanting me to take pics of events. Now for "proofs" or even up to 8x10 are things I want to print. I have a decent printer but,

here is my situation. Should I waste money on buying photo ink? I can't see how the pics can come out much better and never had a complaint on them. but, will switching to photo ink really help?

Its cheaper, not to mention quicker, to go to the local camera shop to print your final images, just print the proof pages at home.

If you get to were your doing a lot of events you might want to consider jumping up to something like a Canon XTi.

The ink probably has very little to do with it. For the most part, ink is ink. It's either the paper or the printer itself. Your camera appears to be 7.2MP so it has more than enough res to be the source for a nice 8x10. Are you using photo quality paper? What printer are you using?

My camera looks really good even blowing up to 20" I do plan on upgrading it since the camera is cheap. Photos are quite amazing. My printer is a c4280 its cheap and also will surprise you. Night pics are mediocre here is a sample of the moon you can zoom in to see the craters in the full size. The printer prints almost flawlessly even using a magnifying glass you can't tell its homemade. But, the photo cartridge I see. I don't know if its worth getting and dropping 30+biggins on it. Compared to my refill kits for 5 refills and then a new cartridge. the picture of the aligator is a scan of a print from the camera. So you can see that there is basically no loss in quality printing it. see room for improvement? what do they want you to go out and get photo ink for?
