Arctic Silver is the God of thermal pastes. I opened up my X1950 Pro to find a glob of gelatinous (I've always wanted to use that word) gray mess that half-filled the GPU cavity. I used Windex (no alkie around and no probs) to swab the inside and applied AS Ceramique. Before I was gaming in FEAR and found that my temps were about 65-78C, now I play it with ALL eye candy on and find that I sit around 53-55C. Just bought Jericho and as long as I keep the AF at 2x I get about 59-63C. I don't even want to know what would have happened if I had tried it without Arctic Silver up in there.
Arctic Silver: 1
GPU crushing games: 0

Re: Gotta Love Arctic
Arctic Cooling's MX-2 is actually better than AS5 and AS Ceramique, not worth swapping it out now, but when you need some more thermal paste...

OCZ has a new thermal compound out that sounds intruiging...
