does the computer being plugged in, and PSU switched on keep the batteries charge longer? because i JUST turned it on in my 63F room and got a cmos battery error(the battery didnt keep the settings from last use which was last night) and it worked fine yesterday, but i switched the PSU off last night(because the PSU stays warm when its switched on) and now it cleared for an unknown reason, is the PSU supposed to stay switched on? :-k

No,
The battery is not rechargable.

You answered your own question. The battery is dead. When there is power to the board, it will keep your CMOS settings.

I'll give you a battery if you want. I can send it with the other stuff in a few weeks.
