Yes, brothers, AIM 6.5 breaks the entire networking protocol and the ability for Vista to communicate between each service...

Basically **** hits the fan when you install AIM 6.5

I normally stick with Trillian but a lady friend of mine wanted web cam features so I decided to dump Trillian (as it's still in beta, Astra, which I love but damn!) for each individual app - well shame on me.

Live 9.0 works fine though!

I haven't tried it on Vista, but instead of installing all the chat apps on my gaming rig or laptop, I just use Meebo ( http://www.meebo.com ). It's completely web based with nothing to install. I'm not sure the complete capabilities of it (like webcam) but it does allow you to use multiple screen names on the same service.

I use meebo when I'm at work - the reason I was using seperate apps is I got tired of hearing all my friends bitch because I can't see what they see, or something like that.

I've used AIM 6.5.5.2 on Vista 64-bit for weeks with not a single problem....
