www.metatech.org/index.html has an article called "Poisoned CD?" half way down
here saying that back in 1994 the way cd-rom's were made changed. they say cd-rom's are poisonous & seem to be used for m-i-n-d control when near a PC, & work up to 26 feet away. another person wrote in to confirm the same thing. audio CDs they say are ok.
It's another reason I'm glad I moved to Linux
Mandriva 2007/8 - all I need is 1 dvd-rom which I now keep outside away from my home.

Wait... What?
CD ROMs are controlling minds up to 26 feet away?
Does this work even if they are turned off?

Has anyone tried to nuke CD's or DVD's in the microwave???
The gases released are really toxic and this is the outcome...
No two mircowaved CD's are ever the same. Just like snowflakes.
To do this feat, take a coffee mug and fill it half full of water. Next place the CD flat atop of the mug in the microwave. Make sure the write side is up. Run the microwave for up to 3 seconds for high powered units, about 5 seconds for lower powered units. Watch the microwave sparks/lightning bolts fly. Remove the mug and the CD. (DO NOT BREATH IN THE FUMES WHEN THE DOOR OPENS.)

Unless its a Microsoft OS CD !!!!!
One OS to rule them all
Recently one of my friends, a computer wizard, paid me a visit. As we were talking I mentioned that I had recently installed Windows on my PC, I told him how happy I was with this operating system and showed him the Windows CD. Too my astonishment and distress he threw it into my micro-wave oven and turned it on. I was upset because the CD had become precious to me, but he said: 'Do not worry, it is unharmed.' After a few minutes he took the CD out, gave it to me and said: 'Take a close look at it.' To my surprise the CD was quite cold and it seemed to have become thicker and heavier than before. At first I could not see anything, but on the inner edge of the central hole I saw an inscription, in lines finer than anything I have ever seen before. The inscription shone piercingly bright, and yet remote, as if out of a great depth:
4F6E65204F5320746F2072756C65207468656D20616C6C2C204F6E65204F5320746F

'I cannot read the fiery letters,' I said.
'No,' he said, 'but I can. The letters are Hex, of an ancient mode, but the language is that of Microsoft, which I shall not utter here. But in common English this is what it says:'
One OS to rule them all, One OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
