A very Happy New Year to all Legit folks! Ithink I'm making the first post of 2008 as all of you are sleeping........or maybe partying.......or lying totally wasted and seeing colors and hues all around........lol
Ok, decision time for me:
Here are the display monitors I'm considering. The range is on this page:
Link: Dell Monitor Range
The models I am considering are (last three on the above page):
Link1: Dell UltraSharp 2208WFP
Link2: Dell SP2208WFP and
Link3: Dell E248WFP
The first two are 22" monitors and the last one is a 24" monitor. What is bothering me is that even though the last one is a 24" monitor, it's an entry level monitor of Dell's 24" range. But the other two, the 22" ones, they are the high-end 22" makes in their range.
Although I'm attracted to the 24" because it will run at 1920x1200 desktop resolution, the two other ones listed have very good reviews in their favor, for their strong orientation towards perfect color reproduction, connectivity features, color gamut, excellent display etc. They are made for catering to the needs of discerning graphics professionals. The 24" make has mixed reviews, with some people saying it's good and others saying that the display quality is substandard.
What I need to know is, from a point-of-view of audio applications, should I give more weightage to desktop space over color reproduction, geometry correctness, display quality etc., or will these things make a big difference in the long run?
If yes, then I wouldn't mind letting go of the fancy for the entry level 24" monitor and opting for one of the high end 22" monitors.
Please let me know your opinions on this.
Cheers.
2008!

Re: 2008!
I have 2 Samsung 226BW's but, we have Dells at work and they perform well. No complaints at all.
I especially like the stands, I think you will too! They're much better stands than what my Samsungs have.
Nice choice!
Happy New Year!

Re: 2008!
Nice display and all, lots of extras that I'd never use, but that price is extremely high IMHO..........
For that kind of cash I could have a dual 24" setup and be in 7th heaven...............

My desk is a standard folding table in the basement. I have three computers on it right now. Two are folding and the other doesn't have a NIC card, else it would be folding too.
Yes, it would be nice to have a few flat screens on this table. I might be able to fit the scanner up here without much trouble.
24" is a really nice size. I've never had anything over 19" CRT for home. At work most of them are 20" LCD's. Very nice indeed.
