well i have this old sound blaster live card that im going to put in my pc, because even though its couple years old its still better than integrated audio. but this particlular pc is going to be used as a home theater pc, so i need a way to get it to comunicate digitaly with my reciver. it has the following outputs: 1 midi port, front speaker, rear speaker and center subwoffer. it also has a yellow minijack plug that is labeled digital out. does any one know what kind of out put it is? im preatty sure its not coaxle, and how can i get this thing to out put digitally to my reciver? thanks in advance for the help

do you know what coax digital is? Basically using an analog wire to send a digital signal. Well, its exactly the same. I had mine set up to a theater system as well. I did mine as digital. You get a 3.5mm to rca wire. I'm not sure what side it sends signal out with but, its not hard to figure out its only 2 wires. After that get a barrel connector and rca to connect the space that you need to get to. To go 20ft its about 7 dollars worth of stuff. Don't get ripped off and think you need to buy fancy stuff. Trust me it sounds great if you have a good set up

Well your receiver should have a coaxial/digital input for the digital sound.

Got it and it looks like its a regular 3.5mm jack thing, and digging the net leads me to find that you should be able to plug it into your coaxial on your reciever via a 3.5mm jack to RCA wire thing. mono is the best, try radioshack or something, but a split l/r dual rca will work too (just try both rca's in the amp, only one will have the sound coming out).

thanks for the help, i actually found a spdif cable that has a mini jack dongle on it. but nonetheless, it turns out that the soundblaster card is only a 4.0 channel, and i have 5.1 speakers. (i figured this out after i installed it, and thus made my fingers a bloody mess for nothing ) guess ill be sticking with onboard audio for now

for a theater pick up a cheapo 20 dollar wally world sound blaster
it worked pretty good surprisingly
