Blu-Ray Drive

This drive is being released on Feb 11 - I might pick one up. Anyone using a BD or HD-DVD drive now?

i dont plan on HD for another several years
save my money for better things
200 isnt bad for Bluray tho, i saw one a lil while back for like 600

For $299 you can get an LG drive that plays BD & HD DVD plus it will burn standard DVD's!

I don't want both formats. It looks like BD will win out so I'm going to go that direction.

I believe that the only real difference in Blu-Ray and HD is the firmware. They both use the same laser so I can see the reasoning in buying a drive that plays both. I'm personally rooting for Blu-Ray format but I'll wait till they drop in price some more before picking one up.

I got a HD-DVD drive in my Toshiba Laptop and well honestly so far ive had no use for it!
Maybe if movies didn't cost an arm and a leg id check it out but as it stands right now I have a hard time justifying spending that much on a movie, hi-def or not.
Of course then again i might be able to go on a HD-DVD shopping spree if prices drop really low thanks to Warner puttin the stake in HD-DVD's heart.
