I have an old NEC ND3520A BLACK drive. I don't burn much, but when I do I never have a problem.

I'm currently using an LG x20 SATA DVD-RW.

I personally think that almost all DVD Burners have the same quality, except Plextor, but they're way too expensive... :(

So far I had very good experience with Lite-On as well, and regarding NEC, I had two NEC drives in the past and both of them died after a short period of time... :?

I use LiteOn 20A1P and it is working great beside the noise when spinning - beside that i greatly recommend it & also very cheap
Before i had a Nec 2500 which broke after 2years

My personal favorite burners are from Plextor. I do not currently own one, but I had a SCSI burner from plextor 10 years ago.

And the performance compared to other burners was so great that I'm still a plextor fanboy :)

My favorite burner is the LG GGC-H20L. It's plays both Blu-Ray and HDDVD disc AND burns DVDs and CDs. Who could ask for more? For $300 at newegg.com it's also a steal considering most stand-alone drives that are decent cost that much or more!

I burn a LOT of DVD's and the only brands I will use are Plextor and Lite-On. They have the least issues in my experience.

What does this have to do with DVD burning?

Anyway, it seems to me as if this thread has reached it's life expectancy and it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if someone closed or locked it.

I think the Lite On's are good, but I usually go for the rebranded Samsung's. I've always had good luck with them, never burned a coaster and could burn everything I threw at it.
