my friend is having a problem with his monitor the monitor is red fah some reason any1 knows how can sumtn like dis accour and how can it be fix and he has a video:fx 5200 ram:1gb cpu:intel celeron 2.6ghz psu :450w os: xp pro yep a pretty old computa but it just for internet browsing would appreciate it if you guys can lend a hand thanks in advance.

Check the cable between the computer and monitor, sometimes if it is loose (or bad) you can get colors like that on the display.

If it's a CRT monitor and the cables are tight it might be the electron gun in the monitor. It has 3 filaments Red, Green, Blue. Often when one goes bad, in this case red, it will flash or tint the entire screen red. No real economically feasible way of fixing it.

Test it with another monitor, and if the test monitor displays correctly it's time to spring for a new monitor.

I second that, could also be something to do with the monitor or GPU but the VGA cable is by far the cheapest thing to fix so lets hope it's that. Looks like it's just not getting the Blue and Green channels so probably is just a old cord that's been abused over the years.

BTW, with the spelling, PLEASE with the spelling, Firefox has spell check and I believe IE does as well so...

I just dumped 2 old old 19" CRT's that were doing the same thing (one blue and the other looked like your's)...............

Anyways, they weren't worth it to me to try and fix, so I just dumped them at the local "E" recycle contractor. I wasn't using them anymore anyways, they were just taking up space.
