whats up guys' am here again with another dilema well am upgrading my videocard the xfx 8800gt was to nosiy. fan was set to 100% all the time so am either thinking of getting like another brand like bfg which ive heard alot of good things or from evga i was wondering if the $40 bucks extra for and 8800gts would be worth it in the end aswell and would like to know the performance difference aswell and am gaming on a 17inch monitor so the highest i can go is 1280x1024 thanks in advance once again. and i did contacted xfx they set the card to only work at 100% fan speed all the time so rivatuner wouldnt of helped. so am gonna rma it back to newegg for a replacement need a decision as soon as some1 can cause am without a videocard and am stuck with my 8600gt. ](*,)

You could just get an aftermarket cooler for the 8800GT you have, they are quieter and cool better.

Cooler temps also help with faster overclocks.

My 8800GTS ran hot (near 70c) until I cranked the fan up to 60%. AT60% its not real loud, but at 80% and up its kind of noisy. With that in mind, Dan has a good idea there.

An after market cooler for a 8800GT costs roughly the same as the difference in price between a 8800GT and a 8800 GTS G92. The later comes with a better cooling solution since it comes with dual slot cooling; it's more efficient and much less noisier.

So for $40 more, besides better cooling, you also obtain a better performing video card in every situation. So, I would vote for buying a 8800 GTS G92.
