Do you have to have SLI for the 9600GT?

I don't have an SLI board. Do you have to have SLI to run the 9600GT? I would think that you wouldn't have to run with the Nvidia chip set for on-board SLI.

you can just run one GeForce 9600 GT on any chipset with a PCI Express x16 lane with no problems at all like I did on
these three cards.
Here is the EVGA GeForce 9600 GT running on an Intel X38 chipset with no issues at all... In order to run SLI (two cards paired together for better gaming performance) you must have a chipset that can do SLI. This means you need to run a 650i, 680i, 750i, 780i, 790i and so on series of chipset.
The 750i can do SLI and the ASUS P5N-D is only
$149.99
The 650i SLI is an older chipset, but you can get a heck of a deal on them... ECS has one right now for just a mere
$59.99 after rebate.

Wasn't sure about the duel GPU card setups if you had to or not.

You must be thinking about the 9600GX2 because the 9600GT is not a dual card.
