I have a laptop with this built in wireless adapter, windows says that it is connected but the internet isnt working. I have made sure the settings are identical to my main machine (has wireless with working net, no i didnt use the same IP). I have tried it on two different routers, it manages to connect to both but still doesnt, work. I have also tried a Wireless USB WG111V2 and that wont even connect (it works on my main machine), the laptop cant even ping my computer... Any ideas would be great!!

What OS?
Can you ping "home" 127.0.0.1 ?

If it's XP, goto start then Run and type CMD
Then type netsh & press enter
Then ip & enter
Then int & enter
Then reset & enter
Then resetlog.txt & enter
Then reboot and test

If it's the same, try uninstall any software firewall you have on the PC

You could try using a Knoppix CD to be sure. This will have the linux firmware and drivers which may help.
But if you formated the drive, then it's not a OS/software issue.

Try to disable the card in the BIOS and then retest with the USB one. (actually, make sure you don't have the USB cards wireless utility and drivers installed when you tested the Intel card)

A quick thing you can also try,
Start / Run & type services.msc
Then stop and restart the "Wireless Zero Config" service

Are you using windows to configure the connection or the Intel software?
If using one, try the other.

Are you sure it's assigned an IP & gateway? Also it should be via DHCP. To check, click on the wireless icon in the taskbar and goto the support tab.

ok ive tried both devices using thier 'native' programs and no luck i have amde sure that the settings are correct for TCP/IP the wireless USB adapter connects and then looses connection or times out, while the built it one stays connected but the net doesnt work. The firewalls are off and the internet works when i run a cable. This is starting to get my really annoyed.
