Daniel_K Reaches Out to Supporters, Creative Responds To Backlash.

Too little too late imo. I'll give them some time to fix up on their mistakes before I even consider buying a sound card from them, that is if I'll ever need a sound card.

I'm keeping a good eye on this Creative driver issue. Working for a non-profit by editing the recorded seminars requires a good sound card.

In the view of things, it's possible that Creative isn't the only company doing things to cause end-users to purchase newer hardware for VISTA. This could be the tip of the iceberg in the industry. However it's very sad since old equipment gets tossed to the curb only end up in land fills. Nothing gets recycled causing higher prices with raw materials overall. Who loses, use the end-users every time. It's a no-win situation.

If the Vole only put more effort towards making a better WinXP-64, VISTA would have never existed. Instead, XP-64 would have been the proper migration path indeed. :drinkers:

I guess Sound Cards are certainly a different market than Graphic Cards. You need to upgrade every piece of hardware to keep up with technology except for the sound card it seems. Heck I bet even a SB16 could be used for Crysis. If Sound hardware was a bigger market, we certainly wouldn't have the crummy onboard on every single motherboard sold today, that's for damn sure.

I wouldnt say old parts are not recycled - consumers not so much but i would say a majority of buisness do. we recycle thousands of tons of old equipment from our customers. we'll we dont do the actual recycling but we take out the old when we replace it with the new and send it to the recycle company. here's our website if you were wondering http://www.pdspc.com/
