I was wondering....in general how important,1-10 scale, would it be to backup all your documents and wipe the HDD of everything and re-installing the OS to make sure you have no driver conflicts from old components. The was basically a new PC since the only pieces that came from the old one were the PSU and the HDD.
I know it can't hurt to do this "wipe" other than the time to re-install all the programs and games not to mention updating the games with their patches. I was mostly wondering IF my recent trouble could be in some way related to older drivers etc. Is there a utility that would remove all older drivers and fix the rgistry that is free and good??

Re: Drivers
I don't think it is a high priority unless you're having problems. Use CCleaner for the registry, and as mentioned before, Driver Cleaner pro.
