Hmmmm Week Old Build wont power up...HELP!!!!

Hi Guys
So i just built a new gaming comp, finished it this week and have been having a ball. Was running like a dream.
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R Mobo
4 1GB Kingston 800Mhz RAM sticks
ASUS Geforce 8800 GT 512MB GPU
Thermaltake Toughpower 600W PSU
So this morning it was going fine no problems at all. I went out and got back this avo, went to power it up, hit the button and nothing. Just nothing.
So i'm thinking its probably motherboard related, or psu. I have not as yet taken the PSU out and tested it in another machine. I was hoping there was an easier way to test it as taking it out is a pain in the case it is in. I believe you can short out some of the slots on the main connector to make it power up?
Also is it a good idea to try shorting the power switch connector pins? Will this power it up if it is still working? And if this does not work does this mean that it is definitely a Mobo problem (assuming i eliminate the PSU first).
Any suggestions would be wonderful.
Cheers
