I made a purchase on Ebay and within a few hours, all the icons on my desktop were changed to Ebay Icons. How do I prevent this? Is there anyway to fix them or should I just go into each one and manually change them?

I have Norton 360 running on my computer.

That does seem strange. Unless you downloaded and installed something from ebay like the ebay toolbar (is there one?) then it shouldn't be able to change things like that. And even if you did, it shouldn't change things like that.

Presuming you are running xp (this doesn't work on anything else); download "Tweak UI" from this page.

Install and run it, then from the bottom of the menus on the left, select "repair" and with the "rebuild icons" in the drop down list selected, click "repair now".

Never had this kind of problem, so i hope it helps.

New one to me also. It sounds as if you may have unknowingly downloaded and ran a virus or spyware program. I see you have Norton...have you tried scanning for threats recently?

ibleet you sound very doubtful of norton!!! I seriously hate it, what gets me even more frustrated people say "Dont worry ive got Norton"

I am doubtful of Norton and McAfee as both has allowed my systems to become infected in the past. More so, I am doubtful that people keep their virus definitions updated, and run daily scans.

You may be surprised at how many PC's I repair that have Virus programs installed and are still infected. The last one had Norton installed (not updated), and had 2 dozen active virus'.

I have to be honest here...I am more confident with AVG than I have ever been with any other PC protection product. That and the fact that I have changed from IE to Firefox.

I now install AVG, Ccleaner and Firefox on every PC that I repair.
