okay so i have a USB controller for my 360 and i wanted to try and use it as a gamepad on my PC. any drivers out there to use it as a generic device? (i know its microsoft but pfft come on lol)
*note: it's a Pelican controller not an official MS one
****READ FIRST: BIGGER EDIT****
----------------------------
okay when i posted before it was just a passing thought in my head, then i decided i'd just try plugging it in and letting windows decide if it could work itself out with the "yes please install it for me" option... it works aside from one thing: it kills my sound... O_O
i wonder if theres a way to mess with a device install because i found it a LITTLE strange that when it was finishing the driver install it registered in my bottom left corner as a pop up of "audio device plugged in" instead of something more appropriate... ideas?

Yep, I use a 360 controller with both my systems. I downloaded and installed the MS driver, worked fine. On the 2nd system, it found it by itself somehow.

ugh... the driver windows found for me refuses to go away completely. i uninstall it from the device manager and then when i reboot and plug it back in to install the file i got from that link, it pops back up as the TZsomething or other pad (remember not an official MS one so im sure its a little different but should work fine driver wise)
help?

i just need to wipe out any existing drivers for it so i have a fresh slate to install the new one i got from MS... sucks to have no sound when i plug it in.

the way i delete a driver is right clicking my computer > properties. Then click on the hardware tab then > device manager
it will be under usb or ports
right click the driver and uninstall it
i have only done this twice so im not the best at it

i've done the same thing i believe through the device manager tab at Control Panel > System > Device Manager and right clicking the 360 controller one... i think theres a driver cleaner program i just dont know what one to use since i've never had to use one before.

Driver cleaner pro?
I have heard a lot of people saying you should run this when updating graphics drivers, maybe this is the same case?
