I have a CoolMaster Cosmos for the computer I am building.

I have an abit IP35 Pro for the MB. The MB instructions says that for the the Front Panel Audio Connection:
This header provides the front panel connection for HD (High Definition)
Audio, yet for AC’97 Audio CODEC connection, you must carefully check the
pin assignment before connecting from the front panel module. An incorrect
connection may cause malfunction or even damage the motherboard.
The case has two connectors, both form the arms of a Y. They are:

-AC97
-HD Audio

Which one should I use?

I am at a loss as to which one to hook up.

Yes, I know the answer is: Asus Xonar D2X. I would love that answer, but presently since I am having to pay for a surgery and being laid-off in 5 weeks, I don't have the money. Unfortunately, I purchased these parts pre-lay-off (Friday).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hook up the HD Audio one. It looks like your board can support either, it is defaulted for the HD audio one (in the drivers) so you may as well use that.
