Yeah, you're probably right. Also, PC Bahng would probably be more accurate for pronunciation, not bang. Glad I could give ya a laugh.

not so easy to say when the 3Mb DSL is all you have availabe, when less than 1/2 mile up the road my neighbors have the opportunity to enjoy 15Mb cable. Nothing I can do... "not enough interest" to bring it 1/2 mile further down.

I just love how companies pull the "not enough interest" line. I bet if you went door to door and asked you would get enough people then if you took it to your ISP they would say "we are very busy and their would not be enough overall performance increase to justify running a line down the 1/2 mile".
BTW: the line "not enough interest" among other things is what led to the horrible death of the electric car, now all we have is this we're sorry car called the hybrid
I'm one of the lucky ones. I finally got fiber just a few weeks ago. And while my lag in WoW has dropped from 230ms to 180ms the pipe is now 20mb. The kids can watch videos and what not and they don't lag me to hell and back like they used to with DSL. DSL sucks the fiber is worth the extra ten bucks a month to me.

The thing about North American countries lagging behind on internet infrastructure, particularly the United States and Canada. Is these two countries are MASSIVE. For companies to lay massive amounts of fiber gets very expensive. While in other smaller countries it's much cheaper to lay fiber.
Let's compare Canada to Denmark. Denmark has a population density of 129.16/km², while Canada has a density of 3.2/km² Which technically means they have to lay 40 times less fiber in Denmark then in Canada.
Luckily for me, the part of Canada I live in has the best internet infrastructure in the country.
