I have no disagreements on that one. Summer was a good time to do it. I just gotta remember having water with me next time lol.

No new kick-ass builds from anyone lately? Almost 3 years of no new posts

Single parent of two teen age kids. No money for a new rig, that and one I'm rocking right now works so not replacing it

only thing I've built recently is my server
IMG_0814.JPG
Fan controllers minimum speed is 40% which is full system load sufficient and whisper quiet
IMG_0809.JPG
built it to replace an Optiplex 755 with a Core2 Duo so I have more expand-ability for storage: dual 2TB mirror'd storage, a 1TB drive for OS backups, and an external 2TB drive for the storage backups, on a USB3 controller
Q9300 underclocked to 2.3GHz, 8GB DDR2 667

my main system has had various trials, planning on replacing the motherboard this week with a Foxconn Bloodrage because I tried an L-class Xeon processor in it that may have been bad and burned a couple lands off my socket  still works but I don't trust it as you might expect ;) now I have to lap the W3520 and DH-14 while they aren't in use

the EVGA board will be reused as my videocard bench system with my i7 960 down in the man-cave

I'm thinking of giving my system a decent over-haul some time this month or so...when the funds starts to flow more smoothly.

New CPU?
Water-cooling?
MOAR fans?
(Maybe a new PSU, too?)

Soon...soon... \:D/

I realized how hypocritical I am being as I haven't posted an updated image of my rig. But then my CPU got hosed ](*,) . So once I put it back to together it will get a proper introduction on here.

I love open view chassis, especially when they are custom made. I really want to find a open view chassis as I am far from experienced for creating my own :)

The cooler master HAF XB has a lot of potential for open chassis, and would require a minimal amount of work to make it happen... and Thank You..

I like the design of the XB but I got the 932 haf advanced and was thinking of trying to mod it somehow to make it more open view?

Besides on doing the normal every day mod of cutting the side panel, the top, and back side of the chassis out, not much you can really do with the HAF tower types. Cutting the opposite panel would be pointless because of wire managing, and motherboard back plate..

I was thinking of cutting the side panel out and replacing with a side window and cut I big section out for 2 of these fans.

Edit:

I just read that the inside if not painted black either. The US store had them painted but they're out of stock. May have to do more searching for it .but I know they have painted ones.

Yea, I'm wanting to get a new one myself. The panel I got came with the HAF-932 I reviewed a while back, but it was slightly scratched.
