Now that I have the Sound Card, I have a speaker problem

Hello, all,

I have just installed an X-fi XtremeGamer sound card, and linked it into a Yamaha HTR-5800. It is a nice setup, and the amp knows that I have 5 speakers (Front Left, Front Right, Center, Rear Left, Rear Right, and one subwoofer). Now, the problem is that the card, whenever I do a channel test, thinks that the front speakers are the same as the rear speakers. It thinks that the front left and the front right are also the rear left and rear right. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tekgek

Sounds as if you need to research the fader connections and controls. :-k

When it comes to the sound stuff, I'm kind of a n00b, but what exactly are fader connections?

this might sound silly- but do you have it set up for 5.1 sound and not 2.1? if you bring up your X-fi control panal you should see options for like headset thru 7.1 sound...

Both the amp and the sound card are set up for 5.1 surround sound.
